Inside Our Design Method

In-Home Consultation

To remodel your home to your exact specifications, we’ll first conduct a complimentary consultation. Here, our project manager and designer will walk through your property and discuss everything on your wish list. We’ll also take measurements and discuss your overall aesthetic, budget, timeline, and more.

Back-End Proposal

Once we’ve gathered all the necessary information, our designer will provide details to our estimator, who will create a broad cost proposal. During this time, our designer will also work on hand-drawn sketches and 3D renderings to present to you during a second meeting.

Design Meeting

This phase of the design and build process involves a second meeting, during which we’ll present sketches, 3D renderings, proposal ranges, and project dates to you. This is your opportunity to address any concerns or questions you may have about the layout of your project, pricing, or timelines.

Should you agree to move forward with R Builders, we require a retainer at this time.

Material Selection

Here comes the exciting part—choosing your materials. We offer two convenient options for this stage of the process. The first involves our designer meeting with you at our suppliers’ showrooms to browse through a wide array of flooring, paint, fixtures, tiles, and more. Alternatively, for those who find retail stores overwhelming, our designer will take two to four days to source materials based on your preferences and ideas. They will then present these selections to you at the R Builders Design Studio.

At this stage, we request a deposit based on the cost of the project. This will be used to purchase your selected materials.

Contract Signed

After you’ve made decisions on all the major materials needed for your remodel, our team will compile everything into a comprehensive final proposal and contract. This document will outline all agreed-upon details, including timelines, costs, and project milestones.

Remodel Process Begins

It’s time to start remodeling your home! Once the final proposal and contract are in place, our contractors will begin the renovation process. Throughout each phase, we prioritize clear communication and transparency. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way, providing regular updates on progress and addressing any questions or concerns you may have.

When we hit a milestone in your remodel, we’ll request a progress payment.

Final Walk-Through

We’ve completed your remodeling project, and the results are even better than you imagined. In the final phase, you’ll conduct a thorough walkthrough with the R Builders team, making sure everything is exactly how you envisioned.

Final payment is due once the job is complete and you’ve approved the work during the walkthrough.

The initial consultation can take anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on how much information you have to share. We love chatting with our clients and will stay as long as necessary to gather all the wants, needs, and must-haves for your remodeling project.
